NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended significantly lower on Friday amid a steep market sell-off led by energy shares.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slumped 603.41 points, or 2.09 percent, to 28,256.03. The S&P 500 fell 58.14 points, or 1.77 percent, to 3,225.52. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 148.00 points, or 1.59 percent, to 9,150.94.
