At least 13 pupils were killed and 39 others injured on Monday evening following a stampede at a primary school in Kakamega County in western Kenya.
KAKAMEGA, Kenya, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 pupils were killed and 39 others injured on Monday evening following a stampede at a primary school in Kakamega County in western Kenya, the police said.
David Kabena, Kakamega divisional police commander, said the stampede happened at Kakamega Primary School, a three-story building, while pupils were getting out of classes, leaving for home.
Five pupils are in critical condition at the hospital.
The cause of the stampede is not known yet.
