Police officers dead in China's epidemic battle granted posthumous honors

BEIJING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Five police officers who died while on duty working on the frontline of China's efforts to contain the novel coronavirus outbreak have been posthumously honored by the Ministry of Public Security.

Aged between 37 and 57 and based in different places ranging from north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to central province Hubei, the five police officers were praised as outstanding representatives of the police who had fulfilled their duties and made outstanding achievements, especially in the ongoing epidemic battle, according to the ministry.

Dedicated to the coronavirus prevention and control work, police officers He Jianhua, Li Xian, Cheng Jianyang, Yin Zuchuan and Liu Daqing died of sudden illnesses following overwork in their positions, the ministry said.
