TAIPEI, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's New Party elected Wu Cheng-tien as its new chairman on Monday.
Wu won 63.78 percent of the votes in the election and will take office on Feb. 21 to replace Yok Mu-ming, the current New Party chairman, New Party spokesman Wang Ping-chung said.
Wu, 63, has been the secretary-general of the New Party. He used to be a legislator and deputy chief of Kinmen county.
