PHNOM PENH, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The number of female civil servants in Cambodia accounted for 41 percent of all civil servants in the country, Cambodia's state-run Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) reported on Monday.
There are a total of 218,635 civil servants in the kingdom, and 89,532, or 41 percent, of them are women, AKP reported, citing statistics from the Cambodian National Council for Women.
The statistics said at the national level, there are 43,849 civil servants, and 31 percent of them is female, while at the sub-national level, there are 174,786 civil servants, and 43 percent of them is women.
Meanwhile, the number of women at the decision-making level, in both political and public sectors, also saw an increase in recent years.
In 2019, there were one female deputy prime minister, 10 female senators, 26 female lawmakers, two female ministers, 53 female secretaries of state, 70 female under-secretaries of state, one female provincial governor, 26 female deputy provincial governors, and six female municipal and district governors.
