PARIS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.27 percent, or 16.60 points, to close at 6085.95 points.
Twenty-six of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French tyre manufacturer Michelin advanced 3.17 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French industrial group Legrand added 1.76 percent. Saint-Gobain, the French multinational corporation that produces construction materials, gained 1.42 percent.
French multinational automobile manufacturer Renault lost 4.26 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics shed 2.59 percent and Global oil and gas company TechnipFMC edged down 1.24 percent. Enditem
