RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia international striker Marcelo Moreno completed a free transfer to Brazil's Cruzeiro on Wednesday after parting ways with China's Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.

The 32-year-old will begin training with the Belo Horizonte club this week after agreeing to a contract that runs until 2023.

It will be his third spell with Cruzeiro, following successful - if brief - stints with the club in 2008-09 and 2014-15.

"I'm very happy to be here and I thank Cruzeiro for having faith in me again," Moreno told journalists at his official presentation ceremony.

"I always had the idea of coming back here. That moment has now come. Not even in my wildest dreams did I think that the fans would welcome me the way they have. I'm looking forward to getting out on the pitch and trying to make them happy.

Moreno's chief task will be to help Cruzeiro return to Brazil's top flight after being relegated to Serie B for the first time in their history last December.

"It's a difficult time but we'll find a way to pull through," the former Wigan Athletic forward said. "I believe in the recovery process and we'll need the support of the fans to help us achieve our goal."

Born in Bolivia to a Brazilian father and Bolivian mother, Moreno represented Brazil at youth level before opting to play for Bolivia as a professional.

He has been capped 76 times and scored 18 goals for La Verde since making his international debut in 2007.
