NANJING, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two recovered coronavirus patients donated their plasma for epidemic control Friday in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, according to the city's public health medical center.

The donors were the first two patients willing to donate their plasma in the city.

"At such a critical moment, I would like to contribute to the fight against the virus," he said.

According to Zhang Xia, deputy president of the Second Hospital of Nanjing, plasma from most recovered patients contain antibodies that can help block and reduce the novel coronavirus.
