CHICAGO, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures traded higher on Friday morning.
As of 1550 GMT, the most active corn contract for March delivery rose 0.75 cent to 3.7925 U.S. dollars per bushel. May wheat added 5.25 cents to 5.645 dollars per bushel. March soybeans gained 4.5 cents to 8.9725 dollars per bushel.
CBOT wheat futures headed higher, supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecast for U.S. wheat inventories to tighten by the end of the 2020/2021 marketing year.
The USDA at its annual Outlook Forum projected U.S. 2020-21 wheat ending stocks at 777 million bushels, down from 940 million at the end of the 2019/2020 marketing year.
Corn futures rallied on strong weekly export data. The USDA reported export sales of U.S. corn in the week ended Feb. 13 at 1,249,200 metric tons for the 2019/2020 marketing year, which is above analysts' estimate.
Soybean futures edged higher as investors turned to technical buying. Enditem
