Zogg takes first PGS snowboarding win, Fischnaller grabs men's title

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Julie Zogg of Switzerland secured her first PGS World Cup title on the women's side of the fifth race of the 2019-20 FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup while Italy's Rolland Fischnaller won the men's competition here on Saturday.

Zogg dived into the finish line ahead of Nadya Ochner of Italy by a slight margin of 0.03 seconds. Ladina Jenny of Switzerland stood on the podium in third place.

In the men's competition, the win went to Rolland Fischnaller, who grabbed his third PGS World Cup victory of the season. The double world champion Dmitry Loginov ranked the second, while his Russian teammate Andrey Sobolev completed the men's podium in third place.

The FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup will now move to Canada, where back-to-back PGS races are scheduled to take place next weekend in Blue Mountain.
