NUR-SULTAN, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese action movie "Ip Man 4: The Finale" Thursday hit the big screen in Kazakh cities, including Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent, becoming the first commercial film introduced to Central Asia by a Chinese distributer.

Kang Litian, manager of the Chinese company in charge of the movie distribution in Central Asia, told Xinhua that the blockbuster screened in Kazakhstan is dubbed in Russian. Both Kazakh and Chinese teams participated in the translation work.

Kang said, more and more Chinese films are eyeing the Central Asian market. "In 2020, our company plans to introduce at least five Chinese movies to Central Asia."

"Ip Man 4" is the final chapter of the martial arts movie franchise starring Donnie Yen and directed by Wilson Yip. Cast members include Scott Adkins and Kwok-Kwan Chan as Bruce Lee.

It will be screened in Kazakh cinemas for three weeks before making its way to the country's online video platforms and TV channels. The film will be released in Uzbekistan at the end of March.
