BEIJING, March. 9 (Xinhua) -- The latest updates on developments of the novel coronavirus epidemic in the world on Monday:
2:00 a.m.
PARIS -- France has confirmed 1,126 cases of coronavirus infection and 19 patients have died of the virus, the Health Ministry announced on its website without giving details.

The total cases of infection increased by 177 in 24 hours. At the moment France maintains pre-epidemic alert at national level. Though all regions have been affected by the virus, the gravity varies in different regions.
In the two most affected regions, l'Oise and Haut-Rhin, reinforced restrictions including two-week closure for nurseries and schools have been ordered.
President Emmanuel Macron, who has shaken his agenda this week to focus on the coronavirus crisis, is to meet with ministers in early evening to forge new response to combat the outbreak.
5 a.m.
SAN FRANCISCO -- Governor Kate Brown of the U.S. state of Oregon declared a state of emergency, as confirmed cases of coronavirus continued to grow in the state.

Seven new cases were recently reported in Oregon, bringing the total to 14.
"I have declared a state of emergency ... to ensure that we are able to swiftly and fully deploy the personnel and resources necessary to address coronavirus in Oregon," Brown said.
Some 8 U.S. states have declared emergency over the outbreak: Washington, Florida, California, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, Utah and Oregon.
According to U.S. media, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country soared to 565 by Sunday.
4:20 p.m.
MUNICH -- The tally of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany has risen to 1,112, local media quoted Robert Koch institute, a government agency and research institute.

NEW DELHI -- The total number of novel coronavirus cases in India has risen to 43, the country's health ministry said.
"As of today, there are 43 total cases, out of which 40 are active cases of COVID-19 in the country," said a statement issued by the health ministry.

"Four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported since yesterday's update - one from Ernakulum, Kerala, one from Delhi, one from Uttar Pradesh and one from Jammu (Indian-controlled Kashmir)."
According to the ministry officials, the latest cases include a woman in Indian-controlled Kashmir with a recent travel history to Iran and a three-year-old child in Kerala with travel history to Italy.
Officials said three positive cases from Kerala detected initially have been discharged from hospital after they showed signs of improvement.
Of the 43 cases in India, 16 are foreign nationals.

TEHRAN -- The outbreak of novel coronavirus in Iran has affected 7,161 people and killed 237, Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education said.
Tehran records 1,945 cases of infection, the highest number among the country's provinces, followed by Qom with 712 cases and Mazandaran with 633 cases, said Kianush Jahanpur, a spokesperson of the ministry.
Iran announced the first cases of the virus infection in the central city of Qom on Feb. 19.■
