BEIRUT, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Health Minister Hamad Hassan announced on Tuesday that Lebanon has registered the first death from COVID-19.
Hassan said that the patient who has died came from Egypt few days ago and his health condition remained stable until Monday, according to Elnashra, local independent newspaper.
Hassan said that the death case necessitates the adoption of a more serious approach and higher responsibility in dealing with the virus.
On March 4, the minister said that Lebanon is cooperating with China in fighting against the virus.
"China has offered needed medical tests to help in detecting the virus," he said.
