HEFEI, March 10 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province on Tuesday sent protective equipment donations to help the Republic of Korea (ROK) fight against the novel coronavirus.
The donations for ROK's hard-hit North Gyeongsang and Anhui's sister province Gangwon include 300,000 face masks, 2,000 pieces of medical protective clothing, and 5,000 medical isolation gowns.
The epidemic has no boundaries and Anhui is doing its part to help the ROK curb the rapid spread of the virus, said Qin Junfeng, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Anhui provincial government.
The donations serve as a form of gratitude to ROK that offered three tonnes of protective equipment to help Anhui fight the virus in late February, said Qin.
By Monday, Anhui had reported a total of 990 novel coronavirus cases, of which six have died and the remaining 984 have been discharged from hospital after recovery. It has not reported any new confirmed cases for more than 10 consecutive days. ■
