Lebanon's COVID-19 cases increase to 52

BEIRUT, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Firas Abiad, general manager of Rafic Hariri University Hospital of Lebanon, announced on Tuesday that the country registered 11 new COVID-19 cases and the total number of infections reached 52.

More than six hospitals in Lebanon have been equipped to receive COVID-19 cases, Abiad was quoted as saying by LBCI local TV channel.

Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan announced on Tuesday that Lebanon registered the first death from COVID-19.

On March 4, the minister said Lebanon was cooperating with China in fighting against the virus.
