AMMAN, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Sunday confirmed six cases of novel coronavirus for two Jordanian nationals and four French tourists, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to seven.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said the tests have also been conducted for people who have been in contact with the cases, showing that no others were infected.

One of the Jordanians came from Britain on March 8, while the other is a tour guide who accompanied an American tourist in Jordan for a few days, said the minister.

Head of the state-run Prince Hamzah Hospital Abdel Razzaz Khushman said the six cases are in good medical conditions.

On Saturday, Jordan decided to suspend all schools, universities and educational institutions starting from Monday for two weeks as part of efforts to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

All flights from and to Jordan will be suspended as of March 17 until further notice.
