JERUSALEM, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Israel reported two new death cases from the novel coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 18, Sheba and Shamir medical centers said Tuesday.
According to the two hospitals in central Israel, one of the deceased is a 49-year-old woman, the youngest death case in the country so far, while the other is a woman in her 50s. They had both suffered from other serious diseases.
Meanwhile, Poriya Hospital in northeastern Israel said a 34-year-old coronavirus patient jumped from the third floor of the hospital building and was seriously injured.
The Israeli Ministry of Health said the number of the novel coronavirus cases in Israel has risen to 4,831.
Of the 572 patients being treated in hospitals across Israel, 82 are in serious condition and 95 are in moderate condition, it said.
Of the remaining 4,241 cases, 2,580 are treated in home quarantine, 619 are treated in hotels converted into treatment facilities, 163 have recovered, and the remaining 879 will be treated at home, hotel or hospital in accordance with decisions to be made soon.
