CHANGSHA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hunan Province, neighboring the former coronavirus epicenter of Hubei Province, further downgraded its emergency response toward the COVID-19 outbreak from the second level to the third level Tuesday, according to the provincial health commission.
Previously, the province lowered its emergency response from the top level to the second level on March 10.
Hunan will continue to implement measures to prevent imported cases and a rebound of the epidemic, consolidate the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control, and promote the resumption of work, production and school, said the provincial health commission.
Hunan reported no new confirmed cases on Monday. There are 161 close contacts still under medical observation.
