SARAJEVO, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) have decorated the monument of Bruce Lee, a Hollywood martial arts icon, to gear up the public's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The monument of Bruce Lee, "the most famous Chinese in BiH," was built in 2005 in the city center of Mostar, some 120 km south of capital Sarajevo.

The monument was propped with respiratory facemasks and gloves on its stretched hands. The scene caught the attention of local residents as well as the journalists and photographers.

"He (Bruce Lee) was the embodiment of fairness, fight for the justice, protection of the weak and the loyalty to a friend and a teacher," said Nino Raspudic, one of the Urban movement leaders. He explained that the idea was to offer a better role model.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported as of Friday, including more than 50,000 deaths.
