KIEV, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from the COVID-19 epidemic in Ukraine on Saturday rose to 28, as the number of confirmed cases reached 1,096, the country's health ministry said.
According to the ministry, 154 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ukraine over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 1,096.
According to Deputy Health Minister Viktor Liashko, the COVID-19 infections may peak on April 14.
Meanwhile, a group of experts under the Ministry of Health are studying the findings of China, Italy and France, and will offer Ukrainian doctors new COVID-19 protocols in the coming days.
On March 25, Ukraine introduced an emergency regime throughout the country until April 24 to contain the epidemic.
