COVID-19 cases exceed 9,000 in Israel

JERUSALEM, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The number of novel coronavirus cases in Israel has risen to 9,006, the Israeli Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, Ichilov and Hasharon hospitals in central Israel announced the death of two coronavirus patients.

The deceased, a 95-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man, also suffered from other serious diseases, the hospitals said.

The death toll of the COVID-19 has reached 59 in Israel.

According to the ministry, of the 707 patients being treated in hospitals across Israel, 152 are in serious condition and 181 are in moderate condition.

Of the other 8,240 patients, 5,611 are treated in home quarantine, 819 in hotels converted into treatment facilities, 683 have recovered and the remaining 1,127 will be treated at home, hotel or hospital according to decisions to be made soon.
