MEXICO CITY, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Wednesday thanked China for its support in combating the novel coronavirus outbreak, especially with much-needed medical supplies.

"Medical equipment and supplies from China are arriving. We very much thank the government of China because it facilitated the acquisition of equipment we didn't have, above all personal protective equipment," Lopez Obrador told reporters at his daily press conference.

"Planes will continue to arrive. We are getting ready. It is fundamental, essential, most important and a priority that we have the beds, respirators, doctors and all of the equipment," he added.
