The fish farm, covering an area of 500 mu (about 33.3 hectares), is used to raise fish and, at the same time, to generate electricity after photovoltaic panels are installed on its surface. Generating more than 20 million kilowatt-hour electricity annually, the application of photovoltaic panels can create a revenue of over 10 million yuan (about 1.41 million dollars) each year. Besides, the annual output value of breeding fish and shrimp can reach more than 2 million yuan (about 0.28 million dollars). This mode has raised land utilization rate and helped increase the economic benefits. (Xinhua/Xu Yu)
