CAIRO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Egypt on Monday reported a record 189 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, bringing the total number in the country to 3,333.
Khaled Megahed, spokesman for the health ministry, said in a statement that 11 COVID-19 patients died from the virus in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 250.
In addition, 89 cases, all Egyptians, left quarantine hospitals on Monday after having fully recovered, taking the total number of those who have been discharged to 821 since the outbreak in mid-February, according to the spokesman.
