Since mid-March, Egypt has temporarily suspended schools and universities, halted flights, cancelled sports activities, closed entertainment places, restaurants and malls, stopped mass prayers, and shut down museums and archeological sites to curb the outbreak of the virus.
On Monday, the Egyptian government halted all public means of transport and closed public parks during the traditional Egyptian spring festival, known as Sham el-Nessim, as a precautionary measure to avoid public gatherings.
The country is currently implementing a nationwide 10-hour nighttime curfew for two weeks until April 23 over COVID-19 concerns. Enditem
