Chinese craftsman: traditional bow maker in NW China

SHENYANG, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Born in a family of bow makers, E Jianye began to learn to make traditional bow of Xibe ethnic group from his grandfather at the age of 15.

It usually takes E Jianye at least one year to make a decent Xibe bow. E Jianye strictly follows traditional way to make a bow, which involves a good many procedures and techniques.

In addition to making bows, E Jianye has also founded a bow club and actively participated in various archery competitions, trying to extend the influnece of the bow-making technique and pass on this skill.
