China updates national platform for common geospatial information services

BEIJING, Aril 23 (Xinhua) -- China’s Ministry of Natural Resources has updated its National Platform for Common Geospatial Information Services, China Natural Resources News reported Thursday.

The new version of the platform updated 10 million square kilometers of two-meter-resolution remote sensing images and 5.37 million square kilometers remote sensing images higher than one-meter-resolution.

Besides, a total of 5.17 million items of surveying and mapping geographic information resources catalog were launched, with 819,000 items updated, said the report. The application program interface of three-dimensional terrain was also added to the platform.

The updated version of the platform makes the real-time online updates of the data at national, provincial and municipal levels come true.

Up till now, the platform has attracted 91,000 registered users and supported 49,000 operation systems. And its mapping interface has been used in the fields of natural resources, ecological environment, public security, scientific research, education, transportation, agriculture, civil affairs and water conservancy.

In 2019, the platform received 400,000 daily independent IP visits. Enditem
