URUMQI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese medical experts aiding the fight of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan have returned to China after completing their mission in the Central Asian country.

The 10 experts, specializing in respiratory diseases, traditional Chinese medicine, nursing, public health, and other fields, arrived at Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Thursday evening. The mission was organized by the National Health Commission and the experts were selected from hospitals and other medical institutions in Xinjiang.

They set off from Urumqi on April 9 to assist in the epidemic prevention and control work in Kazakhstan at the invitation of its government.

The experts provided consultation and training for more than 10,000 medical workers and other personnel in Kazakhstan, and shared with local peers their experience in fields such as infectious disease prevention and control, intensive care and case management.

They also held lectures on the epidemic prevention and treatment for Chinese nationals who study or work in Kazakhstan. Enditem
