Sudan announces 38 new COVID-19 cases, 275 in total

KHARTOUM, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Sudan on Monday announced 38 new infections with COVID-19, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 275.

Sudan's Health Ministry said that one more death was recorded, with the death toll climbing to 22. A total of 21 recoveries were announced.

According to the ministry reports, most of the COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Khartoum State.

Director General of Khartoum State's Health Ministry Dr. Al-Fateh Osman told Xinhua that "the majority of the cases have been recorded in Khartoum state which puts our institutions under great pressure."

"Until now we have one central hospital (for COVID-19 patients) in Khartoum state which is Jabra hospital," he said.

On April 18, the capital Khartoum entered a full curfew as part of a package of measures to stem the virus spread. Enditem
