TIRANA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- At least 60 percent of coronavirus cases in Albania have recovered, Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu said here on Thursday.

Speaking at a parliament session, Manastirliu said 470 COVID-19 patients have recovered, accounting for over 60 percent of the total infections in Albania.

The minister cautioned that the country is still at an active stage of the pandemic and health authorities are making efforts to investigate outbreak hotspots.

"There are more than 100 hotspots across the country and a lot of work is being done by the doctors, nurses and field epidemiologists to cut off the chain of infection transmission," Manastirliu said.

According to Manastirliu, the opening of a number of businesses early this week is part of a reopening strategy to assess the situation in the next two weeks.

Health authorities reported seven new coronavirus cases on Thursday, raising the total number of cases to 773. Enditem
