BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Monday with the national tally of cases standing at 138, entering the third week without new cases since April 19.
According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, two more recoveries were recorded on Monday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 130 and the total recovery rate to 94.2 percent.
The number of active cases still being treated at the National Isolation Center decreased to seven. Two patients are still in critical condition and both require Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and respiratory assistance. The rest are in a stable condition.
There has been one death resulting from the COVID-19 in Brunei.
The ministry added that so far 24 individuals are still undergoing quarantine and 2,551 people have completed the quarantine period. Some 14,476 laboratory tests for COVID-19 have been conducted.
Meanwhile Brunei's Minister of Religious Affairs Hj Awg Badaruddin announced that the country's mosques, suraus and prayer halls will continue to be closed until at least the first week of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, for 24 days until May 28.
The date of re-opening the religious venues is subject to the developments of the COVID-19 situation in Brunei, he added. Enditem
