TEHRAN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday offered his congratulations to Mustafa al-Kadhimi as Iraq's new Prime Minister.
On his Twitter account, Zarif congratulated the new prime minister, his cabinet, the parliament and "most importantly the people of Iraq for success in forming a new Government."
"Iran always stands with the Iraqi people and their choice of administration," he said.
Iraq's prime minister-designate Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Wednesday was sworn in as the country's new prime minister after weeks of political negotiations. Enditem
