ACCRA, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Ghana recorded 921 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the country's total number of cases to 4,012, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) disclosed late Friday.
The GHS said more than 50 percent of the new cases resulted from the outbreak in an industrial facility, with 533 workers out of 1,300 tested positive.
The West African country also recorded 20 more recoveries, taking the total number of those who had recovered from COVID-19 to 323, with the death toll remaining at 18.
Ghana's COVID-19 cases increased by 2,970 since the government eased the lockdown in the regions that are hit hardest by the pandemic on April 20. Enditem
