THIMPHU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Just a day after Bhutan reported two positive cases of COVID-19, the Health Ministry has announced two more positive cases Tuesday.
Like the patients confirmed on Monday, the two, a 25-year old man and 27-year old woman have also returned from the Middle East.
The four were amongst hundreds of Bhutanese Nationals brought home from the Middle East and other countries through the second phase of repatriation arranged by the government of Bhutan. The second phase of repatriation flights have been arranged since April 18.
As of today, there are a total of 11 positive COVID-19 cases within Bhutan and five were declared to have recovered.
The two cases detected Tuesday were kept in quarantine facilities in capital Thimphu. After testing positive through the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction test, the two were moved to an isolation ward, the Health Ministry said.
Around 120 samples were sent for testing at the Royal Centre for Disease Control in Thimphu, of which only two were found positive.
