BEIRUT, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Sunday by nine to 911 while the death toll remained at 26, the National News Agency reported.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Hamad Hassan highlighted the need to follow general mobilization measures during their gradual removal for the return to normal life in the country.

It is worth noting that Lebanon has been continuing to repatriate its nationals stranded in infected countries, with five flights expected to arrive from abroad on Sunday.

The Lebanese Health Ministry has been conducting PCR tests randomly in villages across the country to make a better assessment of the virus spread.

Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian said on May 11 that China will continue to support Lebanon in its fight against COVID-19.

"China will continue to provide Lebanon with assistance to enable both countries to cooperate in their fight against the epidemic," Wang said during his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab. Enditem
