RAMALLAH, May 10 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official said on Wednesday that the decision by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to abolish all agreements with the United States and Israel have already come into effect.

"Israel is denying the fundamental principle of the Oslo Accords, which states that the peace process aims at implementing UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338, and leave borders, refugees, Jerusalem, settlement, security and water for final negotiations issues," Saeb Erekat, secretary-general of the Palestine Liberation Organization, told the official Voice of Palestine radio.

"The Palestinians are no longer bound to any obligation under the agreements, including security coordination with both Americans and Israelis," he noted.

On Tuesday night, Abbas declared the abolition of all agreements and understandings with Israel and the United States in protest against the Israeli plan to annex parts of the West Bank.

Holding Washington responsible for supporting the Israeli plan, Abbas considered it a "primary partner with the Israeli occupation government in all its aggressive and unfair decisions and measures" against the Palestinians. Enditem
