BANGKOK, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Thursday that the center will unveil details of the third phase of lockdown relaxations on Friday.

"But for sure the curfew will definitely be shortened, restrictions on inter-provincial travel will be further eased and road checkpoints will be cut," CCSA spokesman Taweesin Visanuyothin said.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will chair Friday's meeting.

Taweesin said that despite the relaxations of the disease control measures, air flights will remain banned until the end of the state of emergency on June 30.

The spokesman who himself is a doctor said that despite the flattening of the COVID-19 curve, health authorities including members of the Cabinet remained doubtful especially in the undetected communities.

"The Ministry of Public Health wants an additional 100,000 tests to be conducted on groups deemed to be at high risk, such as medical professionals, those in jobs which expose them to contact with many people, prison guards, immigration officials and restaurant staff," Taweesin said.

So far, 300,000 people at high risk of infection have been tested.

He said inter-provincial travel will be further eased, except in some provinces still regarded with at high risk.

Thailand saw a daily jump of new double digits of COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with health authorities reporting at 11 and no new fatalities.

All new cases were Thais who returned from India, Qatar and Kuwait.
