PARIS, May 28 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.76 percent, or 82.65 points, to close at 4,771.39 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 30 gained in the day.
French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer Hermes International advanced 4.86 percent. French multinational company Air Liquide rose 3.70 percent, while French personal care company L'Oreal added 3.50 percent.
French banking group Societe Generale lost 2.71 percent. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe lost 2.69 percent. French multinational automobile manufacturer Renault went down by 2.67 percent. Enditem
