PHNOM PENH, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's Ministry of Health (MoH) announced on Saturday that one more person was tested positive for the COVID-19, raising the total number of the confirmed cases in the kingdom to 125.

The new patient is a 26-year-old Cambodian man, who is among a group of nine persons returning to Cambodia on Thursday by a mini-bus from southernmost Thailand's Yala province, where they took part in a religious training session, said a MoH's statement.

They entered Cambodia through the O Bey Chorn Checkpoint in northwestern Banteay Meanchey province, the statement added.

"Currently, the new patient is undergoing treatment at an isolation ward in the Mongkul Borei Cambodia-Japan Friendship Hospital in Banteay Meanchey province," MoH's secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said in the statement.

His eight fellow friends and a driver have gone into a 14-day quarantine, she added.

Besides the new infection, the Southeast Asian country saw a COVID-19 patient recovered and discharged from hospital on Friday, bringing the tally of patients cured in the kingdom to 123, the spokeswoman said.
