BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The following are the highlights of China's key technology news from the past week:

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIMENT SATELLITES

China sent two satellites into planned orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province Saturday.

The two new technology experiment satellites, launched by a Long March-11 carrier rocket at 4:13 a.m. (Beijing Time), will be mainly used for the new Earth-observation technology experiment.

Saturday's launch was the 332nd mission of the Long March rocket series.

RETURN CAPSULE OF CHINA'S EXPERIMENTAL MANNED SPACESHIP

The return capsule of the trial version of China's new-generation manned spaceship was opened in Beijing on Friday, with almost 1,000 devices and materials delivered to various institutions and organizations for further research and experiments.

During the capsule opening ceremony, 75 research organizations were provided with items relating to various fields, including: basic sciences, space life science, space radiation biology, planet protection, plant breeding, herbal and aromatic plant breeding, food nutrition and wine making, and biomedicine.

SCI-TECH WORKERS' DAY

China honored ten research teams and 286 sci-tech workers on the nation's sci-tech workers' day, which falls on Saturday. Enditem
