RIYADH, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia pledged on Tuesday 500 million U.S. dollars for Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Abdullah Al Rabeeah, announced the plan during the virtual Yemen High-Level Pledging Conference 2020 that is organized by Saudi Arabia in partnership with the United Nations.

He said 300 million dollars shall be allocated to the UN agencies and the rest to the center's Yemen-related projects.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud called upon the international community to exert pressure on the Houthi militias to allow the UN officials access to the Safer oil tanker.

It has more than a million barrels of oil which are at risk of exploding since Houthis took control of the port of Hodeidah in 2015, he highlighted. Enditem
