BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- A total of 53 people lost their lives or went missing in natural disasters across China in May, the Ministry of Emergency Management has said.
Last month, natural disasters affected 13.3 million people and caused 66,000 people to relocate, the ministry said in a statement. Some 2,200 houses collapsed while 281,000 houses were damaged.
The disasters in May were mainly a result of storms, hail, floods and droughts, but also included earthquakes and snowstorms, it said. Enditem
