VIENTIANE, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Laos reported no new case of COVID-19 for 60 consecutive days, and all 19 patients infected by the virus have been discharged from hospitals.
Authorities and people countrywide must continue their efforts in implementing preventive measures, even as no new case was confirmed, Sisavath Soutthaniraxay, deputy director general of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control under Lao Ministry of Health, told a press conference on Thursday.
On Wednesday, a total of 2,198 people entered Laos through international border checkpoints. The temperature of each person entering Laos was checked and no one showed signs of fever.
As of Thursday, Laos has tested 9,427 suspected cases.
