ABIDJAN, June 11 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 soldiers were killed Thursday in an attack against a Cote d'lvoire's army post by unidentified armed militants in the sub-prefecture of Sikolo, according to an official statement from the Cote d'lvoire's Army.
The attack happened at around 3 a.m. at an army post located between Cote d'lvoire and Burkina Faso by a group of unidentified armed men. At least ten soldiers died and six others were wounded, according to the statement.
"Investigations are underway to determine the nature and the circumstances of this attack. In the meantime, urgent measures including the sweeping operation has been taken in this aera in order to find all the other militants," said the statement.
This attack came weeks after a joint operation by the armies of Cote d'lvoire and Burkina Faso at the border between the two countries, which dismantled a terrorist base in Burkina Faso. Enditem
