BANGKOK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- A China-made monorail train will start running on the BTS Golden Line in Thailand's capital Bangkok in October, confirmed a Bangkok executive official.
Krungthep Thanakom Co. managing director Manit Techa-apichok said the Bombardier Innovia APM-300 monorail train, which was delivered to Thailand on Thursday, will shuttle passengers between Krung Thon station, Charoen Nakhon station and Khlong San station near Chao Phraya River and Iconsiam shopping center.
Two other Chinese-built monorail trains of the same type will be delivered in August to add to a fleet of three trains on the BTS Golden Line, according to Manit.
Krungthep Thanakom Co. is an affiliate of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The unmanned train will run at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour through the route on the Thonburi side of the Thai capital. Enditem
