Wei Xuxi, a 57-year-old teacher of Ertang Town in Wuxuan County, has spent over 30 years teaching in the countryside after graduating from high school in 1985. There are 32 students in two grades in Shuanggui Primary School, a small-scale school where Wei works. Instead of dilapidated buildings, or broken tables and chairs, multimedia and many other advanced teaching equipment make the school far from poor and facilitate Wei's teaching. "Schooling in rural areas improved a lot through poverty relief efforts," said Wei. "Education can change the fate of these students.
