Afghanistan reports 324 COVID-19 cases

KABUL, June 23 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday confirmed 324 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of the patients in the country to 29,481.

"A total of 953 tests were conducted within the past 24 hours, and 324 cases were positive for COVID-19 in 10 provinces of 34 Afghan provinces," the ministry said in a statement.

Twenty COVID-19 patients died within the period, taking the death toll to 618, the statement added.

The total number of people recovered from the virus reached 9,260 after 419 patients recovered since early Monday.

The ministry has conducted 66,800 tests since February across the country, according to the ministry's data. Enditem
