COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria exceed 4,000 mark

SOFIA, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria topped 4,114 after a sharp rise in the last 24 hours, official figures showed on Wednesday.

The country confirmed 130 new COVID-19 cases, the second highest daily increase since Bulgaria reported its first COVID-19 case on March 8, the health ministry said.

In the past 24 hours, a patient died, bringing the nationwide death toll to 208, while 2,217 patients have recovered so far, the ministry said.

The ministry mentioned that 362 patients are currently hospitalized, with 13 in intensive care units, while the number of infected medical workers has reached 371. Enditem
