KIEV, June 25 (Xinhua) -- A total of 40,008 COVID-19 cases with 1,067 deaths have been reported in Ukraine as of Thursday, while 17,758 patients have recovered, according to the country's health ministry.
In the last 24 hours, 994 new patients have tested positive for COVID-19, a new record in Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the outbreak in the country, 2,936 children and 6,346 health workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19. A total of 10,870 patients have been hospitalized, among which 372 have been placed on ventilators.
The number of COVID-19 cases has been growing in Ukraine recently, which may be attributed to non-compliance with the country's quarantine restrictions introduced on May 22, officials have said. Enditem
