QINGDAO, China, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Finishing with five players in double figures, the Zhejiang Lions overcame the Beijing Ducks 100-87 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Friday.

Liu Zheng scored a game-high 25 points for Zhejiang, shooting 10 for 19, while his teammate Hu Jinqiu also contributed 24 points and 16 rebounds to the victory.

Fang Shuo shot 8 for 11, scoring 21 points for Beijing, but star player Jeremy Lin was not in his usual form to lead the team, only notching nine points from eight attempts.

"We wasted too many opportunities in the game, and we couldn't shave off the deficit," rued Beijing coach Xie Libin at the post-game press conference.

Liu led Zhejiang in the first quarter with four jump shots, and the team rammed home its advantage with a 15-4 run to lead 51-39 at half-time.

"We were only ourselves at the beginning of the third quarter, and during the rest of the game, we could hardly find our rhythm," commented Beijing player Fang Shuo.

Beijing opened the third quarter on a 13-2 burst and cut the deficit to one point. But Zhejiang attacked fiercely in the paint and blitzed their opponents with tough layups, forcing Beijing to wilt under the sustained pressure.

"I'm very satisfied with our team effort. They played very hard and did a good job. I hope everyone can keep moving on like this," said Zhejiang head coach Li Chunjiang. Enditem
